Hailing Kashmiri people on observing complete shutdown against the visit of  Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to Valley, the United Jihad Council (UJC) Tuesday said the shutdown is a clear referendum against India.

In a statement issued to Global News Service, the UJC General Secretary Sheikh Jameel Ur Rahman said the people of Kashmir have made it clear to India that it cannot crush the freedom movement by the dint of force or by announcing economic packages.

“Even through military might, India can never suppress the freedom movement of Kashmiris and the sacrifices of martyrs will not go waste,” Jameel said in a statement, adding that “we will achieve our goal very soon”.

He said the attack on Indian army and convoys is done to liberate Kashmir from the occupant forces. “The United Nations Charter legalizes such kind of attacks and these attacks will continue”.

The UJC General Secretary said the motive behind the so called campaigns initiated in Jammu and Kashmir by India is to strengthen the Indian army and its illegal occupation.

“India is looting the resources of Valley. The power generated in Kashmir is used to illuminate India while as Kashmir is plunged into darkness,” the UJC General Secretary added.
