SRINAGAR: The Congress party has appointed Nizam Uddin Bhat, MLA from Bandipora, as the Chief Whip for the Indian National Congress in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
The announcement was made following approval by the Congress President.
In a formal letter, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal conveyed the decision to Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee President Tariq Hameed Karra.
The letter reads that the appointment of Bhat aims to ensure effective coordination within the party in the Legislative Assembly, where he will play a role in managing party discipline and guiding Congress members on legislative matters. (News Vibes of India)
