Taking a strong exception to the announcement made by National Conference about of its candidates for the forthcoming parliamentary polls in valley, the Congress on Thursday accused its coalition partner of ‘backstabbing and breach of coalition dharma’.

“The NC has proved that it is habitual of back stabbing. In past it ditched us saying that Hassan Khan is an independent candidate in Kargil and later NC owned him in Kargil Hill Council elections. Now, NC announced its three nominations for the upcoming parliamentary polls today reaffirming our stand that NC has been playing foul with us,” KNS quoted Muzaffar Parray, a senior Congress leader as saying.

“There is a coordination committee of the two coalition partners where the NC could have at least discussed about these nominations prior to today’s sudden announcement,” Parray added.

Quoting sources KNS said that Congress has been demanding one parliamentary seat in valley and that can be one of the reasons why it feels that NC has ‘breached the coalition dharma.’

“We feel offended because they have not consulted us prior to these nominations. At least it was a moral responsibility of NC to inform us before taking such a serious decision. This is totally unethical and against the coalition dharma,” Parray further said.

The senior Congress leader added the state unit of the Congress has taken a serious note of this development and the same will be communicated to the Congress high command very soon. “We have written to PCC president who will be discussing this serious issue with the party High Command in Delhi.  Today’s development has been our stand vindication that NC has always jilted us,” he added.
