Senior congress leader and minister for R&B Abdul Majeed Wani on Saturday suggested party senior leader and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad to contest from his (Wani’s) constituency Doda upcoming assembly elections.
Talking to KNS, Wani said: “I offer my own constituency Doda to Azad sahib who is a great leader in our party to contest the upcoming assembly elections. He can also contest from anywhere in district Doda wherever he feels comfortable. It will be my honour and privilege if he accepts my offer and contest from Doda constituency.”
The Congress minister said that Azad has contributed a lot in the development of the state during his tenure as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir. “The development achieved in just three tenure of Azad Sahib as the chief minister is unprecedented and a record in Jammu and Kashmir’s developmental history,” Wani said.
He said that Azad has contributed in development of the whole country. He said that people of Doda will feel proud if Azad chooses that constituency to contest the upcoming assembly elections. Wani said that people of Jammu and Kashmir want Azad to remain active in state politics so that they could see peace, prosperity and development in the region.
