State Congress president Sunday revealed that the party is going to contest on all the 87 assembly segments of the state, however, the party is not going to field its candidates against CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, DPN chief Ghulam Hassan Mir and PDF chairman Hakeem Mohammad Yasin. “These three leaders will be included in the list of 87 seats and we will not fight against them.”
While talking to KNS, Soz stated that NC votes didn’t transfer in Congress’s favour in Jammu region and that people of the state had anger against the National Conference when recently held Lok Sabha polls were held.
Soz said that the Congress party has not decided anything vis-à-vis continuing the coalition government in the state. “Let the government runs till it can smoothly. Both the parties will have the agendas. The fact of the matter is that we have not decided anything about the issue.”
Over the recent comments of the chief minister Omar Abdullah wherein he stated that he conveyed to AICC chairperson Sonia Gandhi 10 days ago that NC is going to contest the polls alone, Soz stated that it is the entitlement of the chief minister whatever he says. “People know who was saying what. The statements are on record.”
