Putting all speculations to rest, Congress on Thursday said, it would  go all alone in 2014 elections, and would not ally with National conference, ‘as cadres of the party were not happy with the incumbent dispensation.

“We will contest the 2014 elections of our own. No alliance and no pre-poll arrangements”, Senior Vice president of Congress Basher Ahmad Magray told KNS on Thursday. He added that the party cadres were disappointed with the Govt. on all fronts.

“We understand that state has seen huge scale of destruction and slow pace of development during last 25 years, and the present government has to some extent carried on with the development, but still our party cadres and people in general are not happy,” Magray added.

The congress MLC said that the party was endorsing its state President Saifuddin Soz’s view point on 2014 assembly elections and maintained that Congress was ready to go alone to fight next year elections.

“Our cadres are disappointed at every front. Be it, the development front or the political front, they feel ignored.” Magray said.

Stating that Congress would not shield any official or Minister, whosoever, in the infamous drug scam Magray  said, “Law will take its own course, and we believe that anyone found involved in the scam should be severely punished”.

He termed the ‘tussle’ between two senior party leaders Taj Mohi ud din and Sham Lal Sharma as ‘unfortunate’ and said the difference between the two should be sorted out immediately as it could have a negative impact on the party reputation.

Meanwhile a joint meeting of  District Congress Committee Anantnag and Kulgam was held today  in Islamabad Thursday. The meeting was presided over by Bashir Ahmad Magrey MLC & Vice President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee.

Threadbare discussions were held over the reconstitution’s of Block Committees  and Halqa Committees. The cadres were asked to  hold meeting  at Block Levels and gear up for forthcoming elections (2014).

Addressing the gathering Bashir Ahmad Magrey  informed the workers present in the meeting  that  Pradesh Congress Committee is  going to organize political conventions  in every constituency that will be addressed by Prof. Saifuddin Soz himself.

He asked the workers to work hard for rejuvenating the organization more from Halqa Levels and take the programmes and policies of Party to every nook and corner.
