State Congress president Prof Saifuddin Soz Thursday reiterated that his party was confident of emerging as single largest party in Jammu and Kashmir assembly election.

Accompanied by Congress national spokesperson Meem Afza, Soz while addressing election rallies in Beerwah constituency of Budgam district, said, “Congress manifesto has given a clear pledge to identify prominent demands of Kashmir that are required to  be fulfilled which include comprehensive package for employment of youth, fullest possible promotion of Kashmir Handicrafts, development of potential of tourism, progressive exploitation of water resources which can result in regular generation of electricity and irrigation, putting into shape a comprehensive Disaster Management Project, particularly permanent protection against floods in future.”

He said that Congress feels confident that it shall have a largest presence in the J&K Legislative Assembly “and we are determinant to fulfil these promises.” “It is the Congress that will decide the future shape of coalition government in the State,” Soz claimed.

Addressing the gathering Meem Afzal urged the people to believe in the fact that Congress alone would fight the communal forces unleashed by the RSS in the country. He expressed satisfaction that Congress was vibrant in all the three regions of the State. “It was a pleasant surprise to me to the see the Congress as a heartwarming situation,” he added.

Earlier these leaders addressed the meeting at Kralpora (Chadura) and Batmaloo. Those who addressed the gatherings included Gulam Nabi Monga, Farooq Andrabi, Master Mohammad Maqbool, Nazir Ahmad Khan and others.
