Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday alleged that National Conference leader Haji Yosuf died in the custody of then IGP Crime and now Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Raja Aijaz Ali in September 2011.

Addressing an election rally in Uri, he said, “After coming to know about the murky deals of Haji Yosuf, I handed over him to then IGP Crime (Raja Aijaz). He died in his custody. The PDP at that time gave statements that Raja Aijaz is a killer and was involved in Haji Yosuf’s killing.”

“Today I am at loss to understand how PDP has given mandate to the same person whom they termed as killer in 2011. How can he protect people now and represent them when he is a killer,” Omar asked according to a KNScorrespondent.

While lashing out at State Congress president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, the Chief Minister said, “Soz’s dream to become a Chief Minister will never will be fulfilled. When we formed the government in coalition with the Congress we didn’t beg them for it, rather it was Congress which came to us. They wanted plum portfolios for supporting the government which they took.”

“Today I have to answer for the mistakes committed by the Congress ministers. Due to their mistakes NC also suffered,” he added.
