Describing youth as future of nation, J&KPCC Chief G A Mir Sunday urged them to remain steadfast in service of the people and in strengthening the State, for the fact, “future lies with youth”.
“Youth has the responsibility of strengthening the nation and making it free from social evils,” he said, “the youth will have to play a pivotal role in strengthening the democratic institution also and work with great enthusiasm to ensure overall development of J&K.”
Congress held a day long Youth convention in Srinagar today, a party statement said this evening. Indian Youth Congress President Raja Amrinder Singh Brar was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Terming “strong youth as a strong nation”, Mir appealed youth to come forward and shoulder the responsibility of “strengthening the nation and people to the best of their ability and remain committed to their cause of serving the nation and ensure that future of this land is better and prosperous.”
“Youth need to utilize their skills and should work with great vigour and vitality for upliftment of people especially poor and down trodden sections of India and State,” he said, “not only this, youth will have to share the responsibility of strengthening the democratic intuitions like Panchayats, Urban Local bodies by involving themselves fully in these institutions with great wit and ensure development of the common people from grass roots level.”
Mir told the youth Convention to gear up the forthcoming ULB and Panchayat elections and ensure “Congress Party’s overwhelming Victory in these elections”.
Elaborating on the pro-youth programmes and policies launched by Congress Party under Rahul Gandhi in last decade, Mir said, “it is the Congress Party and UPA Government alone which has launched several schemes benefitting youth aiming to make them strong by way of ensuring their better future for them.” “Attempts are being made at various levels to sabotage these schemes merely on political lines, but I am confident that Congress especially the youth would defeat those forces or factors weakening these schemes to serve their vested interests.”
Mir asked youth to move ahead with “an agenda of development, progress, peace and fight against those forces factors exploiting youth for personal benefit”. “Congress Party won’t compromise on the future of youth and would continue to pursue the policies and schemes benefitting youth.”
Eulogizing the youth of J&K for their talent and skill, J&K PCC Chief said, “youth in J&K are highly talented and can do wonders.”
He appealed youth “to remain vigilant and defeat the elements exploiting them for personal benefit”.
Congress Oath to its Youth Convention
“That Youth Convention would continue to strengthen and serve the Party to the best of their ability. They (Youth) would actively participate in the ULB and Panchayat Elections and ensure Congress Party’s victory , in these elections, with a thumping majority and would continue to shoulder the responsibility of strengthening democratic institutions of the State, etc.’’
IYC President Raja Amrinder Singh Brar accused Narendra Modi led NDA Government for its “anti-farmer and anti-youth policies”.
He said, Union government is working against the aspirations of the youth and is only taking care of the Corporate Sector.” “Congress Party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi would continue to fight against the discrimination either with the Farmers or Youth of the Country.”
He added, “Congress Party won’t tolerate discrimination or injustice with anyone in the country and would continue to defeat anti people and anti-youth policies of Narendra Modi Government.”
He praised Kashmiri Youth for their skills and said, “youth in J&K are more energetic and can contribute a lot to the overall and development of the Country and State.”
