Congress’s Shoaib Lone leads from Sangrama

KL Report

SRINAGAR

The son of the slain education minister Ghulam Nabi Lone, Shoaib Lone of Congress is leading from North Kashmir’s Sangrama against PDP’s Syed Basharat Ahmad Bukhari by 1176 votes.

In 2008, Bukhari, an erstwhile broadcaster in Radio Kashmir defeated Lone Jr by 1330 votes.

Shoaib Lone got elected from his father’s constituency as an independent candidate in 2006. Since PDP refused him a party ticket, both NC and Congress provided him “tacit support” and finally, he ended up in Congress’s lap.
