As the counting process began on Tuesday morning, Peoples Democratic Party is leading in four assembly segments of the Srinagar city, considered to be NC’s bastion.

According to the result trends, PDP is leading in Batamaloo, Sonawar, Amira Kadal and Hazratbal assembly segments. While as National Conference is ahead in Eidgah, Habba Kadal, Khanyar and Zadibal.

In Batamaloo, Noor Mohammad Sheikh of PDP is ahead of NC’s sitting MLA Mohd Irfan Shah by 953 votes.

In the high profile contest of Sonawar assembly segment, PDP’s Mohammad Ashraf Mir is ahead of chief minister Omar Abdullah by 1858 votes. Omar, also candidate for Beerwah, is leading with 243 votes against PDP’s Shafi Ahmad Wani in Beerwah of Budgam district.

Asiea Naqash of PDP is ahead of NC’s Mohammad Syed Akhoon in Hazratbal assembly seat by 228 votes.

Prominent businessman and PDP candidate from Amira Kada Altaf Ahmad Bukhari is ahead of NC’s provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani by 321 votes.

National Conference’s Ali Mohammad Sagar is ahead of PDP’s government employee-turned- politician Mohammad Khurshid Alam by 230 votes in Khanyar assembly seat. Similarly, in Zadibal, NC’s Peer Afaq Shah is ahead of Congress’s Shameema Raina by 90 votes.

Shameema Firdous of Habba Kadal is leading the seat by 585 votes against PDP’s journalist-turned-politician Zafar Meraj.

Assembly speaker and four-time MLA from Eidgah, Mubarak Gul is leading by 646 votes against Ali Mohammad Wani of PDP in Eidgah.
