SRINAGAR: Some homes in Cooperative Colony are attempting to have a bigger diameter domestic supply lines that could impact the supply to other consumers, a delegation of the residents said. The colony is located on the airport road adjacent to the Peer Bagh.

“Every home is connected to the main supply line with a half-inch pipe,” they said. “Last night, we detected some families trying to use double the size pipe for the same.”

The delegation said that some officials of the PHE were helping them and when objected they fled from the scene. “By then, they had dug up the road and were not carrying mandatory permissions,” the delegation alleged. “We have already talked to the Chief Engineer and he said he will see into it. But we want the influential should not try to interrupt the set systems”.

The area is facing a peculiar water problem. A vast section is using boosters to drain the supplies leaving those consumers dry who collect the supplies in a sump and then drain the water to their tanks.
