A Kashmir police cop was beaten to pulp by locals after he was allegedly caught molesting a girl in a bus in summer capital Srinagar’s Old City on Wednesday, reports said.
“The policeman Nirmal Sharma of 12th Battalion had boarded a bus from Lal Chowk and was molesting a girl,” reports said.
The reports added that the girl raised an alarm at Gojwara and passengers caught hold of the alleged molester. “Locals joined the passengers and thrashed the policeman to pulp.”
The reports further said that Nowhatta police station has arrested the accused and an FIR has been filed against him.
