Handwara Police in its efforts to ensure complete lockdown across police district have arrested 21 persons for defying government orders.

A police spokesperson in a statement said that in the jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara, Police have booked 12 persons who were found violating the orders imposed by District Magistrate u/s 144 CrPC. Case FIR No. 108/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Handwara and further investigation into the case has been initiated.

In the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad, 05 Persons have been arrested by the police for defying the Govt orders. Accordingly, Case FIR No. 23/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Qalambad.

Similarly, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vilgam, Police have arrested 04 persons for violating the orders imposed u/s 144 CrPC. Case FIR No. 22/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Vilgam and investigation has initiated.

Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by Government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restrictions will be dealt strictly, said the spokesman.
