As many as 25 samples that were diagnosed for Covid-19 at the SKIMS laboratory have turned positive, sources said.

“Of the 25 new cases, fourteen are from Shopian, 6 from Bandipora, 4 from Muqam-e-Shahwali Kupwara and one from Sopore area of Baramulla,” a senior official said.

Regarding Shopian cases, sources said all patients are from Heerpora village. This has taken the number of infected patients in this village to 34.

Heerpora village has already been declared as the red zone. Shopian has already been declared as COVID-19 hotspot with 46 positive cases reported so far.

An official said all the cases are contacts of the earlier positive cases.

Hatched In Quarantine?

As of now, J&K has reported 405 cases, of which 319 are Active Positive, 81 have recovered and 05 have died.

Furthermore, till date 62493 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which include 6032 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 248 in Hospital Quarantine, 294 in hospital isolation and 17421 under home surveillance. Besides, 38493 persons have completed their surveillance period.
