SRINAGAR: The number of Covid-19 patients in Jammu and Kashmir rose to 1456 on Friday, after seven more patients tested positive for the dreaded virus.

Dr S Saleem Khan, nodal officer COVID19 at GMC Srinagar said seven more persons have been tested positive at CD hospital Srinagar includes a 65-year-old woman from Malnag Anantnag, an 85-year-old man from Qazigund, a 25-year-old man from Drarangan Anantnag, a 38-year-old woman from Bandipora, a 48-year-old woman from Kargil, 30-year-old man and a 55-year-old man from Pingleena Pulwama.

He said that seven samples tested positive out of the 756 processed in 24 hours.

Dr Khan said that the hospital has collected 800 fresh samples for the tests on Friday, May 22. Now there are a total of 166 samples the results of which are awaited.

As of now, J&K has reported 1456 cases, out of which  752 are Active Positive, 684 have recovered and 20 have died.
