SRINAGAR: With the easing of lockdown, Administration in Bandipora have made wearing of face mask mandatory in all public places from today, Deputy Commissioner Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza issued the orders on Friday.

“In exercise of powers vested in my under section-34 of Disaster Management Act,2005, I hereby order that wearing of masks in all public places, government offices in district Bandipora shall be made compulsory, ” reads the order. “Anybody found without wearing masks shall be dealt under the law”.

DC Bandipora said for the universalization of use of masks, more than three lac cotton masks have been distributed in the district to ensure that general public use the asks to contain the spread of the virus.

He said with the easing of lockdown, footfall is going to increase at public places and it becomes all the more important for all to use masks at public places. He said advisories have been issued from time to time to the public to use masks and now it appears expedient to reiterate those directions in the interest of the health of the general public.

He said the COVID19 pandemic has brought to the fore the importance of the use of masks to contain the spread of coronavirus.
