Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo on Saturday convened a meeting here to take stock of arrangements put in place for providing treatment to coronavirus (Covid-19) affected patients.

Threadbare discussions were also held on measures being taken for providing medical facilities to infected persons besides enhancing the capacity of hospitals to effectively respond to the pandemic.

Director Coordination, New Medical Colleges, Dr Yashpaul Sharma, Managing Director, JKMSCL, Shiv Kumar Gupta, Director Health Services Jammu, Dr  Renu Sharma, Joint Director, Planning Health, Madan Lal and Army Officers of Northern Command Jammu attended the meeting.

Managing Director, NHM J&K, Bhupinder Kumar and senior officers of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir besides Army authorities from Kashmir valley participated in the meeting via video conferencing.

The meeting was informed that the Army authorities shall help in building 250-bed dedicated Covid facility at Srinagar for which logistics shall be provided by Directorate of Health Services Kashmir.

It was also decided that out of 2 sites identified for building 200-bed Covid facility hospital, Army shall help in building one at Jammu for which logistics shall be provided by the Directorate of Health Services Jammu.

It was given out that Doctors working under Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) would be withdrawn and deployed for Covid hospital duties.

The Financial Commissioner directed the concerned to be geared up and take all the necessary measures must for the treatment and containing the spread of the contagious diseases.
