Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Anshul Garg, on Saturday asked the volunteers of district Kupwara including retired doctors, retired paramedics, NGOs, religious organizations and individuals who want to support and work with district administration Kupwara in combatting COVID-19 pandemic, to register themselves with district administration at online district Portal.
The interested NGOs and volunteers can go to District Website https://kupwara.nic.in/, click COVID 19 tab on its front page, full details including name, contact number and email address along with any specific services such volunteer/volunteers can offer which may include delivery of ration and essential commodities, assistance to health staff, cash assistance through District Red Cross society and other such services.
Ilyas Ahmad, OSD has been designated as the Nodal Officer for supervising the District Level Cell for facilitating NGOs and volunteers to facilitate the general public.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner has designated Sujaat Qureshi, DPO Kupwara, as Nodal Officer for production of local masks through Skill Development Centres in consultation with Chief Medical Officer, besides the officer has been asked to coordinate with Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) for generating awareness in masses, sanitizing public places and ensure proper utilization of masks in the district.
