The district administration on Friday announced that all shops will remain closed in Shopian in view of Coronavirus threat.
According to an order issued by district magistrate Shopian, in the exercise of powers vested in me under National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and rules thereof, I, District Magistrate, Shopian hereby order that all shops/ markets (except for Groceries, Fruit & Vegetable shops, Dairy outlets, Medical Shops, Petrol pumps and other establishments providing for essential commodities) in the jurisdiction of District Shopian shall remain closed till March 31, 2020, as an effective action/ response mechanism in mitigating the transmission of COVID-19 in Territorial jurisdiction of District Shopian.
“Any violation of this order will invite punitive acth5h under relevant provisions of law,” reads an order issued by district magistrate Srinagar.
