The court of second additional Munsif on Tuesday extended by four days the police remand of Mushtaq Peer, former chairman BOPEE the main accused in Common Entrance Test (CET)-2012 paper leakage scam.

Mushtaq was produced before the court by the Crime Branch today, sources said.   Peer has already applied for bail before the special anti corruption case where arguments in support of his bail plea has been recorded.

Peer as applied for bail on the plea of ill health and Crime Branch’s jurisdiction of investigations.

Peer’s counsel has said Crime Branch has no jurisdiction to investigate the offence under section of 5 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act.

However, the crime branch has vehemently opposed to peer’s bail plea saying that the matter is still under investigation and the Crime Branch wants to connect the missing links for which Baqaal’s custody is important.
