KL Report

SRINAGAR

Former State Congress president Ghulam Rasool Kar Saturday said that government of India is not keen to take any action against former Army Chief General VK Singh.

“It was absurd on part of the Home Ministry to ask General VK Singh to reveal more names, whom he has funded so that inquiry commission could be constituted. There is no need to ask Singh or seek his permission. Payoff controversy should be probed and should not be put into cold storage,” Kar told a local news agency, CNS, adding that Singh doesn’t know what damage he has done.

Kar said that Singh showed immaturity by claiming that Army is funding Jammu and Kashmir Ministers since 1947.

“It would have been good for him to keep mum even after the report was leaked. Speaker Legislative Assembly did a marvelous job and he should be made accountable in the floor of the House,” Kar said.

Defense Ministry is authorized to recall any General after his retirement. “Singh should be recalled and court marshaled so that a message go that nobody can bring disrepute to the democratic set up of India,” Kar told CNS.
