SRINAGAR: Ten staff members of the University of Kashmir have tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) on Wednesday.

Registrar University of Kashmir Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir told Kashmir Life that the samples of 200 staff members were taken today out of which ten have tested positive for the virus.

He said that the sample collection in the university will continue tomorrow as well and contact tracing of the positive staff members has also been started.

However, the University of Kashmir is currently on winter vacation and there is no teaching activity going on.

Meanwhile, students from Kashmir University who were presently sitting in various UG and PG examinations demanded deferment of examinations.

Students at BGSBU are also demanding deferment of all offline examinations till the pandemic wave eases and switching over the classes to online mode with immediate effect.
