The Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today visited the Isolation wards earmarked for quarantine facilities for suspected patients which are established in District Hospital Ganderbal, MMC Watlar, PHC Wussan and SDH Kangan where 70 beds are earmarked in view of Corona virus threat.

The DC was accompanied by CMO, Ganderbal, and other officials of the health department.

The DC inspected the facilities available in these wards including, bedding, dustbins, cleanliness, washrooms, staff and emergency/hygienic material.

The CMO Ganderbal briefed the DDC about the facilities available in the isolation wards like availability of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Kits, Thermal Scanners, N 95 Masks, etc.

He said the setting up of these quarantine facilities is in tandem with Standard Operating Procedure advised by the World Health Organization for prevention of the spread of Coronavirus.

Pertinently 24×7 District control rooms (Phone no. 0194-2416260) has been set up by district administration for the public to get necessary information regarding the Coronavirus besides surveillance teams are also in place in the district to identify all such persons who have the travel history from the affected regions.

Appealing people not to panic, the DC asked the persons having travel history of affected countries and regions or are having some symptoms to voluntarily come forward for the medical examination for safety.
