SRINAGAR: In the last 24 hours as many as 17 new Covid19 related deaths were reported across 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. While 906 new infections were reported, 1885 infected people returned home fully recovered, the government said.
Kashmir lost eight citizens and Jammu nine in the last 24 hours.

The trend of infected people outnumbering the fully recovered people continues. In the last 24 hours, as many as 1885 people recovered thus reducing the number of active cases to 17585. The recoveries included 712 cases in Jammu and 1173 in Kashmir.
Now the death toll of Covid19 in Jammu and Kashmir is 4160 people including 2138 in Kashmir and 2022 in Jammu.
In the last 24 hours, two deaths took place in Jammu city and three in Srinagar city, the information revealed by the government said.
The district-wise details suggest that Kashmir lost two citizens each in Anantnag, and one each in Shopian, Bandipora and Kupwara.
Apart from two deaths reported from Jammu city, the region lost two citizens in Rajouri ad one each in Reasi, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Poonch.
In the last 24 hours, officials said 906 new Covid-19 positives were reported from across Jammu and Kashmir. Of them, Srinagar alone accounted for 156, and Jammu, the other capital of the erstwhile state reported 53 cases.
Of the new cases detected in the last 24 hours, Kashmir accounts for 662 cases against 224 of the Jammu division.
In Kashmir, the new cases include 86 from Baramulla, 92 from Budgam, 63 from Pulwama, 74 from Kupwara, 54 from Anantnag, 44 from Bandipora, 31 from Ganderbal, 53 from Kulgam, and nine from Shopian.
From Jammu, officials said Udhampur reported 19, Rajouri 39, Doda 21, Kathua 11, Samba 21, Kishtwar 14, Poonch 43, Ramban 18, and Reasi 5.
Right now, Jammu and Kashmir has 17585 active cases, which includes 11113 Kashmir 6472 in Jammu.
