Amid controversies looming over the allegation on Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir for having attempted to topple the Omar Abdullah government, two senior most leaders of the congress party had a scuffle on Sunday in a meeting during which Minster for Medical Education Taj Mohi ud din reportedly slapped Senior vice President Gh. Nabi Monga giving an indication that all is not well in state congress. The incident took place hours after  Senior AICC leaders including the former Chief Minster and Union Minster Gh. Nabi Azad and AICC General Secretary and in charge Kashmir affairs Ambika Soni arrived in Srinagar on Saturday.

Sources said the situation in the meeting turned volatile when Taj reportedly slapped MLC Monga after both the leaders entered into heated brawl over some issue. Monga while confirming to a local news agency, KNS the incident said that Taj was getting upset for losing ground in his constituency at uri which has made him upset.

“He is losing ground in Uri which has frustrated him to the extent that he is now attacking and abusing the party leaders,” Monga told KNS. He added that Taj used foul language against him and he was going to take up the matter with the party high command.

Taj Mohi uid din could not be reached for comments despite several attempts by KNS, however his close aid rubbished the reports.

Meanwhile Ambika Soni held round of meetings with various delegations on Saturday.

“It was a pre scheduled visit. Ambika Soni met with various party delegations that had come from Baramulla, Srinagar and other areas to appraise high command of their problems,” a senior leader wishing anonymity told KNS. He said the arguments between the leaders were for the various issues party was facing regarding the allotment of mandates and other such things. The leader said that exchange of heated words took place between Medical education Minster Taj Mohi ud din and Ghulam Nabi Monga. Soni is scheduled to preside over the JKPCC leaders meet at SKICC on Sunday.
