Border skirmishes between the armies of India and Pakistan intensified Wednesday morning as both the sides exchanged heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, reports said.

“Mortars were fired in Balakote sector of Mendhar in Poonch district today morning.”

Three army soldiers were killed on the LoC in Machil sector of Kupwara district yesterday.

Pakistan said that four of its civilians, including two children, were killed in Indian firing in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
