Para-military Central Reserve Police Force personnel deployed at a polling station in Kralpora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district allegedly damaged lockers, almirahs and trunks containing school records.

Aghast at the action of CRPF, the Principal Government Boys Middle School approached Directorate of School Education Kashmir for inquiry. “There was a polling station at Kralpora B, located inside Government Boys Middle School. We had allotted only a single room to CRPF. After the culmination of polling, we were shocked to see lockers and trunks damaged while school record was lying at sixes and sevens. We photographed everything and brought the matter into the notice of Directorate of School Education,” a teacher told local news agency.

The teacher added that some school record has gone missing. “It was totally irresponsible act on part of deployed CRPF personnel and they should be made answerable for this,” he said.

The Principal of the School while confirming the incident said that on 9 April as well, CRPF had damaged the windows and doors of the school.

Despite repeated attempts Spokesperson CRPF could not be contacted. (CNS)
