SRINAGAR: A CRPF Head Constable died after suddenly falling unconscious during the night at the District Police Lines (DPL) in Handwara, officials said on Monday.
Officials said that the deceased was identified as Shiv Kumar, son of K. Vijay Sundaram, a resident of Ramambal village in Tamil Nadu. He was serving with the 92 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
They said Shiv Kumar suddenly lost consciousness during the night at DPL Handwara and was immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC), Handwara, for treatment.
However, doctors at GMC Handwara declared him brought dead, officials said.
The body has been kept in the mortuary at GMC Handwara for medico-legal formalities. Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (JKNS)
