SRINAGAR: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was injured after an alert sentry opened fire after noticing suspicious movement in Papchan area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday late evening.

Sources told news agency KDC that a CRPF trooper identified as Constable Vikas of 3rd Battalion CRPF recieved injuries after alert sentry fired some aerial shots after observing suspicious movement at Papchan Camp in Bandipora.

He was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment and is said to be stable, sources added.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora, Rahul Malik said that the incident is being verified.
