SRINAGAR: At least one CRPF personnel was injured in a midnight attack on a paramilitary base, reports from Pulwama said.

Details revealed that suspected militants tossed a grenade towards the CRPF’s 183 battalion in Newa village where a detachment of the state police’s Special Operations Group (SOG) is also located. The grenade did not explode, however.

In a quick follow up, the militants opened fire on the camp in which one paramilitary man was injured. He was quickly evacuated to the hospital where he is being treated.

The incident has been listed by the police for routine investigations. Not many details were available.
