Train services in Kashmir have been resumed on Tuesday after three days of continue suspension for security reasons, a senior railway official said.

A senior railway official told Kashmir Life that train service was resumed this morning in the valley.

A fresh advisory was received from police to resume the train service after remaining suspended for three days for security reasons. Therefore, he said, trains will run as per schedule on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region today.

Similarly, trains will also chug on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, he added.

Train service was suspended on Saturday in north Kashmir as there was some protests while in south Kashmir service was suspended as a precautionary measure following killing of five militants.

The Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Mohammad Yasin Malik had called a strike on Monday against killings in south Kashmir.
