The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel from 176 BN on Monday rescued a 14-year-old girl when she drowned in Nallah Ferozpora near at Chanpora area in north Kashmir’s Kunzer in Baramulla district.

Reports said that a minor girl identified as Nageena, slipped into the stream at Tangmarg and was washed away by the strong winds.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, a group of six Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel could be seen jumping into the stream to save the girl.

Taking to social networking site Twitter, CRPF wrote: “Constables M.G Naidu & N Upendra of 176Bn @crpfindia performing Road domination duty at Tangmarg on hearing cries fr help frm nearby creek risked their lives to save 14 yr old Nageena who was being swept by an undercurrent. Others formed a human chain 2 rescue her.”

An official said that after being rescued by CRPF men, she was immediately shifted to Sub-district hospital Tangmarg for treatment.
