SRINAGAR: Following the pledges put forth by Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, on the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta has directed government entities and Deputy Commissioners to take decisive actions towards advancing the empowerment of youth and women within the Union Territory.

Reiterating the sentiments expressed by the Lieutenant Governor, the Chief Secretary urged all departments to collaborate effectively to instill unwavering confidence in the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, assuring them abundant prospects and avenues throughout their lives.

Emphasising another commitment of the LG, which centers on comprehensive empowerment and economic progress for the women constituting half of the population, the Chief Secretary called upon each department to prioritise the creation of inventive solutions aimed at expediting this objective within a specified timeframe.

The Chief Secretary underscored that enabling the youth to realise their utmost potential will release a wave of positive energy, propelling India towards excellence across diverse domains.

He encouraged all departments, including the Deputy Commissioners, to devise actionable strategies in alignment with these goals and ensure their diligent implementation within the designated timeframes.
