Curfew has been imposed in eleven police stations of Kashmir Valley as a precautionary measure with the authorities apprehending law and order problem following the killing of a youth in Army firing in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Curfew was imposed on Tuesday night in the police stations of Rainawari, Khanyar, Nowhatta, Saraf Kadal, Maharajganj, Zadibal, Maisuma and Kalan Khaud areas of the old city, a police spokesperson said. While as curfew has also been imposed in Baramulla, Sopore and Kulgam areas as well.
As per the spokesperson the decision to impose curfew was taken at a high level meeting of police officers following the death of Tahir Sofi in an army firing in Baramulla district on Tuesday afternoon.
