Curfew-like restrictions continue in Old City parts of Srinagar for the third consecutive day on Friday as “a precautionary measure to prevent any violence”.

Police said that restrictions under Section 144 CrPC continued for the third consecutive day in the areas falling under five police stations of Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Safa Kadal, Khanyar and Rainwari in the down town.

A Hizb militant, Sajad Ahmad Gilkar, of Malaratta in Old City was killed on Wednesday along with two other militants during a gunfight with forces.
