Local authorities have announced that the curfew will be lifted in South Jammu city on Monday for three hours between 2 pm to 5 pm as curfew entered the fourth day in the region.

According to District Magistrate Jammu, curfew shall be relaxed in areas falling under 5 Police Stations including Gandhi Nagar (except Police Post Nehru Park & Digiana), Channi Himmat, Sainik Colony, Trikuta Nagar & Satwari (except Police Posts Belicharana & Gadighat) from 2 pm to 5 pm today.

“However, restrictions would be in place in these areas under section 144 on Public gatherings,” he said.

The relaxation has been given in view of the improved situation in the area.

Jammu has been under curfew for the last four days due to arson and violence by local mobs on Kashmiri Muslims following the Pulwama attack of Thursday.
