A minor boy has been detained by J&K Police in North Kashmir’s Trehgam police station Monday evening.

Local sources told Kashmir Life that strict curfew was in place in Trehgam area today. “There were clashes in the area. Forces fired tear gas shells as stone pelting was going on,” locals said.

They added that a young boy, 12 years old, was detained by police when caught from a baker’s shop. “When forces entered our Mohalla, youth fled but one young boy was detained. He was inside Baker’s Shop,” locals said. The locals identified the boy as Yawar.

He has been arrested and detained in Police Station Trehgam, they informed.

Kashmir Life tried to contact SP Kupwara but his cell phone was switched off. “We can’t confirm you,” SHO Trehgam Police Station told Kashmir Life when asked about the detention of the minor, “contact PCR.”
