The Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPP) chairman, M Y Khan has resigned on Tuesday from his position.

The official sources in the department have confirmed the resignation that came on Tuesday afternoon.

M Y Khan was the longest-serving chief executive of J&K Bank who helped in its making of state’s first and the only listed company. Then he stepped into the energy sector and took over as chairman of the CVPP, a joint venture between the state and three central PSUs. He led the company for eight years.

Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited (CVPP), was incorporated on June 6, 2011, a Joint Venture Company of NHPC Limited, JKSPDC and PTC (India) Limited for execution of 03 Hydroelectric Projects namely Pakal Dul, Kiru and Kwar with aggregate capacity of 2164 MW at Chenab River Basin in Distt Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir.
