Czech Delegation in a meet with Governor

A 9 member delegation of Czech Republic led by Karel Schwarzenberg, Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of Chamber of Deputies, called on Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan in Jammu on Thursday.

The delegation discussed various matters of mutual interest to both India and the Czech Republic and establishment of strong economic cooperation between the two countries, an official spokesperson said this evening.

The Chairman of the delegation observed that the purpose of their visit was to acquaint themselves with rich diversity of India. During the delegation’s discussions with the Governor it was suggested that the possible areas of economic co-operation in J&K could include harnessing of vast hydro power potential, solid waste management, tourism promotion and civil aviation.

The delegation comprised Pavel Holik, Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee; Leo Luzar, Chairman of the Parliamentary Subcommittee for External Economic Relations; Karel Rais, Chairman of the Parliamentary Subcommittee for Development Cooperation; Rom Kostrica, Member of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee; Milan Hovorka, Ambassador Extraordinary and Pleniopotentiary of the Czech Republic of India; Roman Masarik, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi; Zuzana Putnarova, Secretary of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee and Silvie Ginterova, interpreter.
