SRINAGAR: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Thursday appealed to the public not to vandalize hospitals if a family member dies during treatment. Such acts of vandalism act as a block for development and expansion of corporate healthcare sector in Kashmir.

President DAK, Dr Suhail Naik said that from past few years whenever a patient dies, there is a cry of negligence with people resorting to vandalizing hospitals.

“It is not done. However advanced may be medical science, it cannot guarantee to save lives. A person can die due to anaphylaxis or allergy due to a drug or injection within minutes,” he said.

Naik said all medical procedures are associated with risks, uncertainties and complications.

“What all that doctors can do is give their best to save every precious life. But Life and death are in accord with the will of Allah – the timing and place of death is therefore predetermined and fixed for each human being,” he said.

Pertinently Shifa hospital was vandalized by attendants after the death of a woman on Wednesday.

DAK president added that every human life is precious and we stand with the bereaved family at this time of grief and loss.
