After the Dal flowed over three feet of its maximum capacity this morning and water was all around in the interiors of lake, the Dal dwellers came on roads near Nishat and are protesting against the government.
Blocking roads and raising slogans, the dwellers allege that government failed to save them
Locals of area while talking to Kashmir Life said that protesters are actually ‘illegal occupants’ and have raised hutments and houses in clear violation of the norms.
They further said that many of them have been ‘rehabilitated by arranging alternate place for them to live in.”
Vehicular movement was suspended on the road. Struck in protests, Rafi Ahmad told Kashmir Life over phone that “it is ridiculous. They are illegally living in Dal and are now making our life hell.”
