Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) vice chairman (Jammu) Muhammad Shafi Rangrez passed away. The deceased was hospitalized in Ludhiana for last few days.
Chairman DFP Shabir Ahmad Shah has expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the demise. A condolence meeting was organized in which special prayers were held and glorious tributes were paid to Rangrez besides highlighting his contribution to the freedom movement.
Shah while addressing the condolence meeting termed Rangrez as a “sincere and valour leader” of freedom movement and said the deceased dedicated his life to freedom struggle since his very childhood and passed through various hardships.
“Since 1960, he dedicated his life to Kashmir struggle and spent major portion of his life in Jammu and outside jails and never compromised with his stand,” Shah said.
The meeting also unanimously decided that a delegation will visit the deceased’s residence as soon as highway reopens.
