Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday issued a statement detailing the killing of two youth and injuring another one since last evening.

The statement stated:

During the intervening night of 2nd and 3rd August, two more innocent teenagers were deprived of their precious lives, one Farooq Ahmad Kuchay (25 years) from Lethpora, Pulwama and another Riyaz Ahmad Shah (19 years) from Chattabal, Srinagar by the unruly Indian forces.

One more youth from Lethpora Suhail Ahmad Wani (17 years) was shot at his head who is struggling for his life in SKIMS, Soura.

Riyaz Ahmad was killed when he was returning home after attending his duties as ATM guard at midnight.

He was shot at by CRPF personnel from a bunker near JVC medical college Karan Nagar and his dead body was lying at the road all the night.

In the same way, a security guard accompanying ADM Ramban on seeing a group of people near Lethpora highway fired upon them indiscriminately killing one youth and injuring another very critically.

“These brutalities are committed in order to deter the people of Kashmir from raising their just voice peacefully which is being supported by the masses in the form of huge peaceful protests, suppressing this just voice of people by using unbridled power, such movements never die,” Jama’at-e-Islami said in a statement issued this afternoon.

“To change the situation, it is indispensable to listen to the genuine demand of the people and take positive steps for fulfilling it according to the wishes of general people,” the statement said.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir impressed upon the international human rights institutions in addition to UNO and OIC to send their delegations for reading the present situation of the valley and listen to the woes of the people and also “take note of the atrocities committed by government of India upon the hapless Kashmiris”.

“Further,” the statement said, “the real aspirations of people are to be ascertained and take concrete steps for the final resolutions of Kashmir issue.”
