After post-mortem confirmed that Riyaz Ahmad Shah, an ATM guard from Guzarbal in Chattabal, was killed by pellets, shot from point-blank, thousands began marching towards his house.

People waited since morning for Riyaz’s body, which was being kept at PCR, Batamaloo, where his post-mortem was conducted.

Reports said that Riyaz’s body is being taken to Eidgah for burial by thousands of mourners.

“People are coming from different areas to join his funeral,” said KL photo-journalist Bilal Bahadur, who is part of the procession. “They have defied curfew. It is huge procession.”

Riyaz was found dead last night outside CRPF camp GMC by an auto-driver. The post-mortem has established that Riyaz has been hit by pellets from close range.

J&K Government has imposed undeclared curfew in Kashmir parts while united resistance leadership has called for complete shutdown today.

At least 54 civilians have been killed by forces since July 09, a day after popular militant commander Burhan Wani was killed.
