While condemning the prolonged and strict crackdown in length and breadth of the valley, All Parties Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday said that the government “claiming to be elected by the democratic process” by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, is “brazenly” using its military muscle to “suppress” the aspirations of masses, “tarnishing” every fabric of all ethical, moral and human values.
Commenting on the fresh search operations in Beigh Pora and Kralgund and arresting of 11 members of a single family in North Kashmir, the Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani said that the widespread fling of unabated arrests, irrespective of age and gender proves beyond doubt that the “spirit of freedom runs through the blood of each and every person here and to curb and silence these emotions, forces are hell bent upon to fizzle it out and create a pseudo impression of normalcy”.
“Present establishment, at the behest of Nagpur brigade, claim to be the custodians of peace and tranquillity, shamelessly justify and legalize the subjugation by Indian armed occupation,” the Hurriyat Conference said.
The Hurriyat Conference condemned the poster campaign against the political activists in South Kashmir particularly Mohammad Yousuf Falahi, Mir Hafizullah and others.
“Not only their houses have been ransacked, windows and doors smashed and household items destroyed but the houses of their relatives are constantly raided and some of them have been arrested as well,” the statement informed adding, “instead of facing them politically puppet government is harassing their innocent kith and kin to pressurize them for surrender.”
“They are not fighting for their own self or for any perks and privileges but for the freedom of whole nation and pro-freedom people can never be cowed down by these mischievous and suppressive actions. Today when whole nation is collectively up in arms for their just struggle and everyone is contributing to their maximum, it is only these pro-Indian, unblushing flunkies of their masters, who will fully and wittingly harbour their criminal, vicious and offensive actions,” the Hurriyat Conference added.
“All their humane composition has been shredded off and they are left with a body, devoid of sincere and truthful emotions, thriving on blood and flesh of their own species,” the statement issued this evening observed.
The Hurriyat Conference further said that it has been reported that “some employees are now succumbing to the pressure of their bureaucratic bosses and they hypocritically look of excuses to attend their offices, but they all should remember that traitors and opportunists have no place in a revolutionary struggle”.
“It is high time for them to join hands with their brethren who consciously and honestly sacrifice their youth for the liberty of the land where these so-called white collar public servants too have to nourish,” the Geelani led Hurriyat Conference added.
The Hurriyat Conference further criticised the movement of traffic in civil lines areas of Srinagar and alleged that “government is trying to give a feel of normalcy by its paid agents despite every sort of oppression”.
It stressed upon people to strictly follow the protest program of the leadership and resume their daily business only during relaxation periods.
“Relaxation is a very essential part of the programme,” the Hurriyat Conference said, “people should resume their routine life only in relaxation hours.”
