Expressing his deep concern over the reports that the administration of the state Universities are finding different excuses to make the attendance of the students mandatory, Chairperson All Parties Hurriyat Conference (g) Syed Ali Geelani Thursday said that the universities have announced to start the counselling for graduate and post graduate courses.

“Same way the PSC and the SSRB had also started the recruiting process for different vacancies and the government contracts are also being allotted through e-tendering and e-advertisements,” a statement issued by Hurriyat Conference (g) said this evening.

“Although the communication blockade is in force in the state of Jammu & Kashmir so these contracts are being taken away by the non-state people. The authorities are trying to hide their heinous crimes by announcing the scholarship for the students,” the statement quoting

Geelani said, “the puppet rulers are using their paid agents to break the present peaceful struggle of the people. All this is done with an only aim to divert the attention of the people from the real goal.”

The Hurriyat patriarch cautioned the officers of universities and other government departments “not to become the tools of oppression and stand with their nation at these trying times”.

“Today, the youth of Kashmir is on the roads not for the jobs or the scholarships but for the greater cause of freedom and nobody will be allowed to harm this struggle,” he said.

While terming the attitude of “Indian rulers as arrogance of power”, Geelani said, “it is now 27 days of bloodshed in Jammu & Kashmir and the fascist rulers of India are still not satisfied with the innocent killings in the state.”

He reiterated his resolve that “we will not surrender our just demand of freedom from Indian occupation at any cost and we will continue our peaceful struggle till we achieve our goal”.

The pro-freedom leader once again appealed the government employees to stand with their nation and play their part in the “on-going freedom struggle” of which they are also an important part. He also appealed the employee heads not to force their subordinates to attend the duties.

Reiterating the tomorrow’s program of joint pro-freedom leadership, Geelani appealed people to start marching towards the Hazratbal on Friday tomorrow from early morning in large numbers.

He appealed the people residing in Nehru Park, Nishat, Shalimar, Harwan, Nigeen areas to proceed towards Hazratbal in Shikaras and boats.

“This march will be peaceful and dignified in every respect. And we will offer Friday congregational prayers there and will pay tributes to our martyrs,” he said.
