Around three dozen civilians were injured in clashes with forces in different areas across district Kupwara on Friday.

The people were holding pro-freedom and anti-India rallies at several places after Friday prayers.

The deployment of forces at sensitive spots was increased in wake of the Friday congregational prayers.

At several places, forces attempted to thwart back the rallies which resulted in violent clashes.

A rally from Aloosa village was intercepted by forces at Kralpora which resulted in clashes injuring at least a dozen people.

Pro-freedom protests erupted in border village of Zirhama village near Trehgam after Friday prayers.

The protestors raised pro-freedom slogans.

Locals said that army present in the village fired upon the protestors which resulted in serious injuries to two persons.

Pro-freedom demonstrations were organised in Kupwara town and adjacent villages. There were fierce incidents of stone pelting reported from the town.

Similar reports were received from different villages of Handwara belt.

Reports suggest that around a dozen civilians were hit with pellets on Friday.

Kashmir is witnessing a massive civil uprising which started after the killing of popular militant commander Burhan Wani.
