Police had to use force to quell force in posh-Rajbagh area on Friday.
Local reports said that as soon as congregational Friday prayers ended, intense pro-freedom protests erupted in Ikhraj Pora area of summer capital.
The youths in the area had painted pro-freedom and anti-India graffiti. “There was a peaceful protest going on in the area when police reached the spot and chased away the protestors,” an eye witness said.
He added that whole area has been sieged and nobody is being allowed to move out of his/her home.
“Youths resorted to intense stone pelting and reinforcements were called,” the eye witness said.
Kashmir is witnessing a major crisis, first since 2010. Early Friday, Ms Mehbooba Mufti led government imposed strict curfew across Kashmir against the ‘Dargah Chalo’ call given by the united resistance leaders today.
