At least four people – three pilgrims and one Pony Walla were killed and eight injured on Saturday morning in a landslide on old track to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Jammu region.
A landslide hit the old track to the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra district, reports said.
“At least 12 people were hit by the landslide,” a newspaper report quoting a police official said.
The injured have been shifted to a hospital, the official said.
Those who died in Mata Vaishno Devi shrine accident area at Adhkuwari at 1:30 AM have been identified as:
- Shashi Dhar s/o KM Nagraj r/o Bangalore (30 Yrs)
- Bindu Sawhney w/o Surya Kant Sawhney r/o Drag Chatisgarh (32 yrs)
- Vishal s/o Surya Kant r/o Drag Chattisgarh (05 Yrs)
- Mohd Sadiq s/o Mohd Sharif r/o Mansa Taanda Akhnoor Jammu (34 Yrs) (died in hospital).
